Helmeppo is a Lieutenant Commander and Marine, although he did not start off as such. Before training under Garp, Helmeppo was your typical bratty officer’s son who used his father’s position in the Marines to get ahead. Now, he is a skilled swordsman who wields dual kukri weapons. He and Koby are friends, but Helmeppo gets a little miffed at Luffy’s admiration of Koby’s growth while largely ignoring his own development.
